Check in

As a low-cost carrier we seek every possible way to keep your airfare as affordable as possible. With minimum staff at the airport we are able to offer even lower prices on airfare. That is why, as of February 1st, 2025, we will charge a small fee for checking in with a human at the airport when online check-in is available. 

Note that the airport check-in fee is not applicable in the following cases: 

• Passengers flying from airports where online check-in is not available: Billund (BLL), Geneva (GVA), Split (SPU) and Verona (VRN). 
• Passengers who have already checked in online or at the check-in kiosk at the airport. 
• Passengers with reduced mobility. 
• Passengers traveling with a service dog. 
• Passengers on charter flights. 
• Passengers using the unaccompanied minor service. 
• Passengers who have booked an extra seat (for their comfort, instrument, infant, etc.). 
• Passengers who have booked special assistance. 
• Passengers traveling with a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower 

Your online check-in desk is located within your MyPLAY account, and the best part? There are no lines!

Online check-in opens ​24 hours ​before the flight's scheduled departure time and closes ​1 hour​ before the flight's scheduled departure time.

Please note that online check-in is not available for departures from Billund BLL, Geneva GVA, Split SPU and Verona VRN. The check-in desks open 3 hours prior to departure and close 1 hour prior.

When check-in is open, you can log in to your account and click ​"Check in"​.
The whole process is simple - just the way we like it - and should only take a few minutes of your time.

If your booking is not connected to a MyPLAY account, you can check in by clicking on the check-in button at the upper right corner of our website. From there, you can check in by entering your last name, booking number and the departing airport.

Please note that after you have finished the online check-in, you will no longer be able to:

• Change the flight date
• Do a name correction
• Select your seat

Baggage allowance can be purchased during check-in and until it closes.

If your flight is departing within the next 24 hours, online check-in for your flight will be open and you will no longer be able to add baggage allowance through your MyPLAY account. Instead, you can add it through the online check-in process.  

If you are flying from one of the airports where online check-in is not available (Billund BLL, Geneva GVA, Split SPU or Verona VRN) and would like to purchase additional baggage allowance within 24 hours to departure, please reach out to our Service Team.

Please note that the price for additional carry-on baggage allowance will be higher at the gate, so it is recommended that you purchase additional baggage allowance during online check-in if you need it. If you bring more than your purchased baggage allowance, you will be charged at the gate.

If you're traveling with checked baggage, please go to the check-in desk at the airport to drop off your baggage after checking in online.

At Keflavik International Airport, you can scan your boarding pass in our self-service kiosks to print your bag tags.
The bag tag is essential in matching the baggage to the passenger. You need to apply the bag tags to your baggage and drop it off at our baggage drop-off desk. From there, your baggage is scanned, and you can proceed to security screening!

If you are only traveling with a cabin bag and have successfully checked in and received your boarding pass you can proceed directly to security screening upon arrival at the airport.

Remember to verify that your cabin bag meets the PLAY size and weight requirements and you are all set!

Seats will be assigned to you but if you prefer other seats you can change them and purchase the seats you'd prefer.

When the online check-in process is complete you can send your boarding pass to your email address. You can then use your smartphone to scan your boarding pass.
The boarding pass is your ticket to board the plane and shows you the scheduled departure time, the boarding time, gate information if that is available when you finalize your check-in, your name, and other additional travel information you need to be aware of. If you've already completed online check-in but want an agent at the airport to print out your boarding pass, an additional fee will apply as of February 1st, 2025.

Failure to appear in time for check-in or boarding will result in a lost ticket.
