No disruption expected to flight schedule due to eruption
A new volcanic eruption in the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland began on November 20, 2024. This is the 10th eruption in the peninsula in 3 years. As with previous events in the area, this eruption is not expected to disrupt any flights to or from Iceland.
Road closures are in effect around the eruption site and travelers are advised to stay away from the surrounding area. Traffic to and from Keflavik Airport is not affected by this event.
Safety is always our top priority and the situation in the Reykjanes peninsula is monitored closely by the relevant authorities.
